Helpful products make it light work

After creating an amazing look or even applying your daily look, facing the task of giving your brushes a scrub can feel daunting. Using a quick drying alcohol brush cleaner is a really easy way to remove germs and make the brush super clean. Here are my favourite products that are available on Look Fantastic which I have opened an affiliate account with so I can offer my discount code of 20% on my honest favourite products.

Benefits of regular cleaning include:

  • Less bacteria on the skin = clearer skin

  • Better cleaner application with no old colours or product ruining your look

  • Brushes lasting longer and being in better condition

  • Brushes being great at what they do instead of all clogged up

  1. Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleanser

This stuff is awesome and it goes such a long way. You simply swipe your brush in the solution and wipe on tissue/pad and they are crystal clean and dry ready to use on a new colour or pack away ready for next time.

It's available from many websites in a variety of sizes. This starter kit comes with an alluminium dipping dish which makes it super easy to dip clean your brushes. It's only £19.99 on Look Fantastic and would last for a long time.

2. StylPro Brush Cleaner and Dryer Gift Set

This clever device spins your brushes dry with the special solution in 30 seconds. Its on special offer which includes two face brushes too. This one is amazing if you love a nifty gadget. Great for personal use or to store at home and do a deep clean with inbetween makeup jobs. At a very reasonable price £31.99 with my discount code at

3. ISOCLEAN makeup brush cleaner with detachable dip tray

What I love most about ISO Clean is its very clean in its ingredients it is strong and effective but also contains aloe vera leaf. Its cruelty free and vegan like all products I recommend. Its a dip and wipe idea leaving the brush dry. This set would be £9.60 on Look Fantastic with my code.

I sometimes do a deep clean with baby shampoo and use a silicone mat in the sink or shower. Give them each a little lather, rub and rinse. I then hang them off a window sill so they dry in nice way instead of flattened or out of shape.

With the alcohol type quick cleansers I would recommend doing this after every use and at the very minimum every week if you wear makeup more than a few times per week. If its only occasionally especially as we are in lockdown, doing a clean after every use is recommended so the next look you create you wont have any of the previous products on your brush.

How to use the alcohol cleansers like Cinema Secrets and ISOCLEAN

  • Dip the tip of the brush with the solution.

  • Swirl the brush on a clean paper towel for approximately five seconds.

  • Residue is removed from the brush and the solution changes colour.

  • Remove the brush from the solution and squeeze the bristles with a clean paper towel until they are dry to the touch.
